1. Select a Latin American country from the list provided and let your teacher know the country you chose.
2. Browse through the collection of travel brochures provided by your teacher and familiarize yourself with the various characteristics of an eye catching brochure.
3. Use the Big6 problem solving approach as you gather information for your vacation package.
4. Use the books and web sites provided in the Resources section to gather information to use in your brochure.
5. Find, evaluate, summarize, and paraphrase relevant information.
6. Create a colorful, informative and dazzling brochure that includes the following:
 
  • A title or catchy phrase on the first page that will attract viewers.
  • Name and location of the country.
  • An itinerary for a 5-7 day trip to your Latin American country that appeals to all 6 tourists who have booked this trip.
  • At least 3 pictures.
  • An advertisement for your travel agency, Trips "R" Us.
  • Correct spelling, punctuation, capitals, sentences, and grammar.
 
 
 
 
7. Create a presentation to promote this trip to future travelers. Be creative!

There are many good sites on the Internet to help you gather the information that you need. Visit our Resources Department to take you to those helpful sites. Do not just limit yourself to the Internet though, use library resources and books as well. Gather enough information to create an appealing brochure that not only meets the needs of your 6 current customers, but can also be used for future customers as well. Travel Brochure Tips
  • The final product must be created using AppleWorks. Directions for a three-fold brochure can be found here.
  • Make your brochure eye catching as well as informative.
  • Keep information user friendly. Create a desire to come and explore the many facets of your country.
  • Your brochure should include appropriate pictures or graphics to enhance your presentation.
  • Final print copy should be in your own creative words not those that you borrowed!
